Learn the art of meditation and understand the Zen Buddhist understanding of suffering, healing, trauma & liberation at this hybrid event.

Join us for an experience of silent meditative practices and Buddhist teachings on healing at Shared Ground in Denver (or join us on Zoom). Discover the transformative power of Zen Buddhist tradition and embark on a journey of discovery and inner peace amidst chaos. This hybrid (in-person and online) event will introduce you to the fundamentals of meditation, including different postures, breathing techniques, mindfulness and how to work with reoccurring thoughts and emotional patterns. Led by Zen Buddhist priest and Climate Justice Educator Kritee Kanko from our Boundless in Motion Zen community, this event is perfect for beginners looking to explore the world of silent meditation and start a regular practice. For those exploring doing a silent meditation retreat with our community or undergo a spiritual rite of passage called Jukai (Lay ordination) in our sangha, these two workshops will serve as replacement for first two modules of our “Introduction to BIM” modules. For more resources for people of color, please see here.

We will have two three-hour long workshops that will include prayer/chant, instructions on meditation posture, breathing and emotions, practice time, a short talk and a lot of time Q&A. Please register below.
